Gallery - Motorsport Art by Alex Book

Welcome to my Gallery, where the history of motorsport comes to life through meticulously hand-drawn artworks. Here you can explore five unique art series, each dedicated to iconic races, legendary drivers, and classic racing machines. All artworks are created and drawn entirely by hand by Alex Book.
Grand Prix de l'ACF Renault

Focused on the earliest competitions, including the first Grand Prix in 1906 at Sarthe, Targa Florio races, early Le Mans events, and the first Monaco Grand Prix. These artworks are drawn in Ink & Watercolor, using pencils, ink liners, and professional watercolor paper in the style of vintage engravings.

Indy-500 History Art by Alex Book

Capturing the first decade of Formula 1 from 1950, this series illustrates classic circuits, legendary drivers, and historic cars. Each piece blends Ink & Watercolor techniques with careful historical research to recreate the authentic look and feel of early F1 racing.

Highlighting rare and famous classic F1 cars, as well as legendary and forgotten drivers, these works are fully hand-drawn digitally in oil painting style on a graphic tablet. Every detail, from car bodywork to track surroundings, is meticulously researched for historical accuracy.

Dedicated to the most prestigious American race, this series depicts every Indy 500 winner from the inaugural race in 1911 to today. Each piece highlights the winning car, the driver, and the details of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including track features and atmosphere of the era.
